MINISTER VISIT...(27/04/08)

Guess who is coming to my neighbourhood??? It's Mr. Khaw Boon Wan, Singapore Health Minister.

That Sunday morning, mama and I woke up very early cos we promised Ms. Koh that we will help her to take care of the rabbit when Mr. Minister come for visit...Ms. Koh made a lot of aeroplane made of recycled paper...and my job is to help to distribute it to all the kor kors and jie jies. Ms Koh also made boats of out recycle material, nice windmill and some traditional toys.

Wow... my neighbourhood end up so happening, there are some por por playing Japanese Drum, School Band, Exhibitions, Games Stall, aunties playing Pentaque, and they also set a big pool of salad for Minister to toss.

I was given a whistle to blow to welcome Mr. Khaw...when I saw Mr Khaw, I stretched out my hand to shake hand with him...haha Mr. Khaw shoke my hand and told me to be careful of HFMD...too bad I didn't take a photo with Mr. Minister.

So dissapointed...Ms. Koh did so much preparation end up Mr. Minister didn't visit our rabbit garden.

Overall we had fun...

19th April 2008

Sad sad....no activities for this Saturday...cos mama signed up a talk organised by Women's Weekly and Abboot Nutrition on " Complete Ways to Raise a Well-Balanced Child" Parenting Materclass.

In the morning, our usual routine is going to the market for breakfast. After that we went and visit Rachel's new baby sister (Rachel is 3 months younger than me and stays around my neighbourhood). I had fun playing with Rachel's toys.

By 11am, mama rushed home to prepare lunch for me. Guess what mama cooked for me??? Kon Lor Mee Tai Mak.

After lunch, mama went straight to Orchard to meet Jolin's mummy for the talk (Jolin is 1 day younger than me...we met in Dec 2005 in TMC, both of our mummies are room mate in TMC when they delivered us).

Mama felt that of all the 3 topics discussed on that day, the one presented by Dr Jennifer Kiing (PD fm NUH) is the best. The topic is about Positive Parenting - Managing your child through the difficult age stages. The 2nd topic on nutrition nothing new for mama. The 3rd topic's title sounds very interesting, " Developing your child's EQ & other confident life skills" but they don't teach much things. This speaker end up like hard selling her course in her centre...

Mama still find that the talk is quite worth it cos she paid only $17 for the talk but the goodies bag is worth more than that. She also got 2 extra cans of Pediasure from Jolin's mummy...thank you auntie Jenny.

FUN WITH TOTS

This is one of the activities organised by National Library Board for children like me to build our interest in reading.

I attended the on held in Geylang East Community Library on 15th April 2008. Admission fee is only $2 per pair (means mama and me). Fun with Tots is a 30 minutes session for children 1-3 years old. There are singing session and story telling lesson. The facilitator will recommend books that are suitable for us to our papa or mama.

Mama says it's a good programme except the facilitator is not so good. The story telling so so only...not very interesting...hehe I think my mama can do a better job than him. But the songs are good(I went back home keep singing the songs). The set up of the place a bit messy. That poor uncle have to walk up and down to mend the computer and the CD player. Mama thinks that he should arrange all this things nearer to him cos if he walk up and down like that he will tend to lose our attention.

Mama saw a "celebrity" together with us in this programme. Love 97.2 Radio DJ Violet Fenying was there with his son. Her son quite good boy like me...heeee...both of us didn't walk up and down, we sit with mama through out the programme.

Overall, I still quite enjoy it cos I get to sing, dance and play with many kids.

My 2nd Visit to the Zoo (12th April 2008)

I enjoyed this visit better compared to my last visit last year. Probably because I know the names of the animal so I know how appreciate more.

Thanks to mama's friend for the free pass, both me and jie jie get to vist the zoo for free. Mama thought that it will be better if we pay for the tram ride since I very lazy to walk...true enough I enjoyed the tram ride very much...they played some African music and you can see I start shaking my legs, body and hand.

We started our journey on the tram 1st for 1 round then we started to explore around by walking then another round of tram ride. (cos I keep telling mama I want to sit in the tram).

Am happy to see elephant (I saw the elephant drawing leh), giraffe, zebra, hippo, rhino, cheetah, jaguar, lion, chimpanzee, orang utan, monkeys, white tiger, polar bear, sea lion, penguin, kangaroo, emu, ostrich, crocodiles, fishes and birds.

We all had a fun and fruitful trip!

HOME ACTIVITIES

Mama was inspired by hardworking mummies who prepare home activities for their kids. She started planning some home activities for me...(her motto is all materials must be cheap and good).

Here are 2 of the activities she prepared for me...more to come.

A) Sort colours stick - learn about patterns and also colours. Can be used as counting sticks. Helps to improve hand eye coordination too.

Yeah I completed liao all well sorted out

Nice colours stick

Finish liao...clean up time

Everytime when I clean up, I'll sing the "Clean Up" song

B) Numbers puzzle - learn about numbers and their orders. Differentiate left and right. Can learn colours too. Last but not least also help out in hand eye coordination

MY FAVOURITE SONG.....Me Love by Sean Kingston

A video clip of me singing this song (taken in the taxi)...frankly I only know the chorus, so the rest of the time you will see me shake my head only...

5th April 2008

Another Saturday, means another Outing Day....

Mama usually take 1 whole week to crack her head to plan some activities for me on Saturday. For the activity on 5th April, initially she wanted to bring me to the pool for a swim but she is worried of the HFMD epidemic which is quite hot recently. So we ended up at Ikea @ Tampines cos she wanted to get some plants and ideas how to revamp her "garden" (FYI, outside of our house, near to the lift landing, we have a big space where we put lots of plants there). Mama wants to turn her "garden" into a nice cosy greenery corner.

We took a cab to Ikea, shop for some plants then had lunch there. When I reached home, I was very tired, went straight to bed for my nap.

See I got so many plants

What is this pose??? Don't ask me I don't know

Mama was very tired too but her mind is too active thinking on how to decorate her "garden"...so she jumped out of her bed and get jie jie to start doing gardening together. Good time to do cos if I'm awake for sure I'll disturb them one...

Mama was quite satisfied with her new "garden". She clean up the whole place, make it more tidy and replant some plants. Took a lot of pictures...actually can do more but with minimal cost, this is what we get.

My nice green plants

These 2 plants was replanted by Mary and the old chair is fm JW's studyroom

Some new green plants on the current racking and replanted some hanging plants

Money plants from Ikea....only $1.50 each

2 "relax" chair with a foot rest turn to be a table

Relaxing and enjoying the greeneries

Enjoying my milk while mama enjoys her Ribena

I'm the Ambassador to my garden...Welcome to my Garden

Photo of mama and me at our cosy greenie garden!!

In the evening, papa planned to bring us to East Coast Park but too bad heavy rain, we ended up going to Parkway Parade. I went there for the rides (sit only lah...no pay money one) and had our dinner there.

Me on the rides

Barney ride, me climb up and down
