HOME ACTIVITY 3 - FUN with SAND

Mama got this inspiration from Hi5, playing sand is fun. So mama took some nice colour sand from Ms. Koh and use it for me to play and learn. Mama used it to teach me alphabets and number. I used fingers to touch and draw the shape of the alphabets and number. Suppose to be good for sensorial stimulation - touch and visual. When mama pronounce the sound, I can also learn phonics from there...

Actually it will be more fun if I have a whole sand pit. Well just have to make do with this lor.

P/s: those alphabets and numbers are not written by me, mama hold my hand to write...

Trip to Penang (29/4/2008 - 3/5/2008)

Mama and 3ee decided to bring Ah Mah and Gong Gong to Penang for holiday...well I'm included in the trip...yeah!!!!

On 29/4 nite, mama, jie jie and I took a night train to meet 3ee in KL...wow my train ride was indeed INTERESTING AND ADVENTUROUS . Mama saw the departure time wrongly, the train suppose to leave Sg at 9pm but mama happily thinking it's 10pm. At 8.57 when 3ee called, mama only found out that it's 9pm...we took the risk and rushed to the train station by taxi. When we reached the train station, we were so happy to see the train still around. But the gates were closed and the custom officers knocked off already....mama rushed in and look every where for the custom officer. Thank God someone showed mama to the Custom office and 1 dear officer was still around. I think we boarded the train ard 9.30pm and the train leave around 9.45pm. Praise God for that. Mama and 3ee prayed very hard, 3 ee even went down on her knees to pray that God can turn the impossible to possible...Thank God for making it possible for us.

I was very excited when I went into the train...keep saying wow nice bed, nice pillow...I keep walking ard, moving from mama's bed to jie jie's bed...I had a good sleep on the train even in my dreams I said nice pillow...haha...

We reached 3ee's house around 8am, rest awhile and had our breakfast. Around 9+ we set off to Penang together with another Ee ee (mama's godsister). We stop by Ipoh for lunch and also meet up with my god grandma (mama n 3ee's godma).

We reached Pg around 4+pm. Our hotel room is really very big lor (600 sq ft), can fit in 1 king size bed, 1 sofa bed, 1 queen size airbed and 1 single airbed and still lots of walking space...My grandparents reached Penang around 7+. There took a flight in from Kuantan.

Through out that few days, we visited Penang Hill, Kek Lok Si, Snake Temple, took a drive to Batu Feringghi and Gurney Drive. We also took a ferry ride to Butterworth...from there we drove to Bukit Tambun for seafood. Nice place with jetty and cheap food.

We drove back to KL on 2/5. I caught a cough n flu in Penang, when we reached 3ee's place I have to visit daryl kor kor's PD. That night 3ee took all of us to mamak stall for supper. I tried garlic naan and roti tissue...WOW Nice leh...

Before we leave for Sg on 3/5, 3ee took us out for dim sum breakfast...good, nice and cheap dim sum...on the food matter, i think mama will probably say more in her own blog.

Here are some photos to share with you guys...

MINISTER VISIT...(27/04/08)

Guess who is coming to my neighbourhood??? It's Mr. Khaw Boon Wan, Singapore Health Minister.

That Sunday morning, mama and I woke up very early cos we promised Ms. Koh that we will help her to take care of the rabbit when Mr. Minister come for visit...Ms. Koh made a lot of aeroplane made of recycled paper...and my job is to help to distribute it to all the kor kors and jie jies. Ms Koh also made boats of out recycle material, nice windmill and some traditional toys.

Wow... my neighbourhood end up so happening, there are some por por playing Japanese Drum, School Band, Exhibitions, Games Stall, aunties playing Pentaque, and they also set a big pool of salad for Minister to toss.

I was given a whistle to blow to welcome Mr. Khaw...when I saw Mr Khaw, I stretched out my hand to shake hand with him...haha Mr. Khaw shoke my hand and told me to be careful of HFMD...too bad I didn't take a photo with Mr. Minister.

So dissapointed...Ms. Koh did so much preparation end up Mr. Minister didn't visit our rabbit garden.

Overall we had fun...

19th April 2008

Sad sad....no activities for this Saturday...cos mama signed up a talk organised by Women's Weekly and Abboot Nutrition on " Complete Ways to Raise a Well-Balanced Child" Parenting Materclass.

In the morning, our usual routine is going to the market for breakfast. After that we went and visit Rachel's new baby sister (Rachel is 3 months younger than me and stays around my neighbourhood). I had fun playing with Rachel's toys.

By 11am, mama rushed home to prepare lunch for me. Guess what mama cooked for me??? Kon Lor Mee Tai Mak.

After lunch, mama went straight to Orchard to meet Jolin's mummy for the talk (Jolin is 1 day younger than me...we met in Dec 2005 in TMC, both of our mummies are room mate in TMC when they delivered us).

Mama felt that of all the 3 topics discussed on that day, the one presented by Dr Jennifer Kiing (PD fm NUH) is the best. The topic is about Positive Parenting - Managing your child through the difficult age stages. The 2nd topic on nutrition nothing new for mama. The 3rd topic's title sounds very interesting, " Developing your child's EQ & other confident life skills" but they don't teach much things. This speaker end up like hard selling her course in her centre...

Mama still find that the talk is quite worth it cos she paid only $17 for the talk but the goodies bag is worth more than that. She also got 2 extra cans of Pediasure from Jolin's mummy...thank you auntie Jenny.

FUN WITH TOTS

This is one of the activities organised by National Library Board for children like me to build our interest in reading.

I attended the on held in Geylang East Community Library on 15th April 2008. Admission fee is only $2 per pair (means mama and me). Fun with Tots is a 30 minutes session for children 1-3 years old. There are singing session and story telling lesson. The facilitator will recommend books that are suitable for us to our papa or mama.

Mama says it's a good programme except the facilitator is not so good. The story telling so so only...not very interesting...hehe I think my mama can do a better job than him. But the songs are good(I went back home keep singing the songs). The set up of the place a bit messy. That poor uncle have to walk up and down to mend the computer and the CD player. Mama thinks that he should arrange all this things nearer to him cos if he walk up and down like that he will tend to lose our attention.

Mama saw a "celebrity" together with us in this programme. Love 97.2 Radio DJ Violet Fenying was there with his son. Her son quite good boy like me...heeee...both of us didn't walk up and down, we sit with mama through out the programme.

Overall, I still quite enjoy it cos I get to sing, dance and play with many kids.
