My Homemade DIY Playdough

Mama saws some cookies mould sold in Shop & Save (cheap only $1.99 nia) and she quickly came out with the idea of making a dough for me to play with it....her DIY dough is actually her "mee hoon kueh" dough.

Dough Recipe : (amount...mama "agaration")
1) Flour
2) Water
3) a little bit of beaten egg...

Mix 1+2+3 together and knead it till it becomes a dough...

It's fun to play, I also help mama to knead the dough...then use the mould and press press...hehee result : - can see love shape, bear shape and star shape...I keep saying star after I moulded the shape!

Mama thought of adding some colours on it to make it more attractive but mama's colleague suggested that let me use water colour to paint on it...this time round we just tried on a plain dough without colour first...will try again with colours...

CHILDREN'S DAY

Children's day falls on 1st October 2007...this year I really get to enjoy children's day celebration.

1st celebration was in my school...

It was celebrated on 28th September 2007...too bad I don't get to attend cos my 3ee and Daryl gor gor came and visit me. They want to bring me go kai kai. However, mama and the whole gang popped by in school....guess what??? My teacher pass me a packet of goodies bag. (only 1 bag hor, what you see it's just front view n back view nia).

2nd Celebration in my Children Church

My church's children ministry organised a telematch to celebrate Children's Day on 30th September 2007...Wow so many kids came to my church on that day...Mama who is serving the the Children Ministry left the house very early to help out in the preparation...I enjoyed the telematch game very much. I get to run on the field and pick up ball to put in a pail...sounds fun to me...wow, the heat and running really makes me super tired...when I reached home I slept for almost 2.5-3 hours....too bad mama didn't take any picture cos she too busy. Will post the picture later once I have it. P/s : I also received a goodies bag and some stationaries on that day...

CHILDREN's day is FUN....I'll be looking forward to the next Children's Day! To all the kids out there :

HAPPY MOONCAKE FESTIVAL

It's 八月十五，中秋节。。。。this is the celebration where people play lantern and eat mooncake...no wonder my teacher gave me a mooncake (breadtalk mooncake)...guess who eat it, of course not me lor. Mama and jie jie ate it but both agreed that mama's greentea mooncake taste better.

In the evening, mama and jie jie took me to the playground to play lantern. Supposedly that's the tradition...This year I got a Barney lantern, thanks to mama's church friend Aunty Shanty for giving it free to me. I saw jie jies and gor gors playing lanterns, candles and sparkles...SO FUN...some children actually walk around the playground with their lantern...ME>>> too shy to do that...not cool and not glamour. I keep passing the lantern to jie jie. All I want to do it's just play on the playground with the jie jies and gor gors. Had lots of fun.

Bad Allergy

Haiz....poor me, don't know why I had this bad allergy...Mama got very scared, thought I had measles cos I have small red dotes all over me....Mama quickly bring me to a GP and was told that it's an allergy (measles comes with high fever lah mama...don't be kan cheong queen)...

Mama suspect that I had this allergy from school cos that' s the only changes in my lifestyle...Mama didn't introduce any new food to me...2ee said could be the colour pencils or crayon used in school...Mama will have to go to school and talk to my teacher...Won't be going to school for a few days cos the medicine that I take will make me super drowsy and sleepy...imagine I can sleep from 7pm till 6am after taking the medicine...

My Favourite Hang-out Place


Well when mama got no where to bring me to on Sat, she will bring me to Geylang East Swimming Pool...I like the place very much, it's about 20 mins walk from my house (sometimes can be longer, depends on mama's speed...most of the time I lazy to walk and will make mama carry me all the way home)...


I love the children pool, I love to play with all the kids there, chase after them in the pool...they have a slide but mama alone can't let me go on it cos she needs someone to catch me at the end of the slide, if not I'll go down into the water...thank God there are some nice mummies who offer to catch me...I had lots of fun there...

SCHOOL - Talent Plus at Blk 65 Circuit Road

Finally I started school....My first day of school was on 17th September 2007 at Talent Plus playgroup (http://www.organise4u.com.sg/TALENTPLUS.htm). Actually mama wanted to enrol me in another playgroup nearer to my house but probably it's a blessing in disguise that I had a "pulled elbow", I didn't go to that school. Mama went and visit Talent Plus playgroup and found out that they are much cheaper and have better syllabus (partial montessori...main attraction to mama).

Day 1
Teacher insist that Mary jie jie has to sit in for class with me...even though papa told teacher that I'm adaptable and I'm OK. Probably teacher scared that I will whine...anyway jie jie stayed throughout... jie jie end up becoming mama's spy. Mama asked jie jie to report every single details and activities of the class...jie jie told mama that I learnt about fruits, how to peel a banana and teacher shows us fruits that have seeds. I was quite good, followed teacher's instruction, just that on and off I'll called out for jie jie (heee probably to make sure jie jie is still around).

Day 2
Probably I had too much fun in school and too excited till I had slight fever. Mama asked jie jie to take my temperature to make sure I'm ok before going to school. Well, when it's time to go to school...me ok liao...Jie jie send me to the school door and when I saw my school friends I immediately "cheong" inside without saying bye bye to jie jie. When jie jie pick me back from school, teacher told jie jie I behave well cos I didn't cry at all. I even hugged all my friends before going home.

In the evening and nite, my fever came back...just slight fever around 37.5 degree.

Day 3
Again jie jie took my temperature before going to school. The funny thing is that my fever only comes in the evening but when it's time to go to school, my temperature will go back to normal....so I continue going to school...

Looks like I really enjoyed school very much. I'm a big boy now, I'll attend school just like all the gor gor and jie jie...3ee says I broke the record in the family as the youngest kid to go to school. Daryl gor gor went to school when he was 2 yrs and 2 mths old (26mths) but me...pai seh to say that I start school at the age of 21 mths...what to do I have a kiasu mama...Mama really hope that I can pick up more good things in school esp on my speech development.

Mary jie jie's Birthday

Today is Mary jie jie's birthday. Mama gave jie jie a lunch treat at Marine Parade Sakura Buffet. Well it's more like my birthday cos mama let me try a lot of food...I tried sushi, konyaku jelly, chawanmushi and a bit of ice cream. Wow both of them can really eat a lot, now really explain the size why they are round and me skinny...

At Singapore Post, mama bought a bag for Yolanda cos her 1st birthday is on the following day. Mama also bought a sling bag for me since i like to take her sling bag so much...After that we went to Popular and mama bought a book on POTTY Time for me...she really hope that the book will encourage me to start on potty training...

MY CHARACTER

Today I'm 21 months old ...wow, in 3 more months I'll be 2 years old. Big boy liao! Big boy with big characters too....

Mama and Papa has been analysing me for the past few months to see how I've grown in physical and emotional. They did a check list on my character to see what are my strengths and weaknesses to see what they need to do to mould me into a better person...Few characters that shows strongly in me now is as below:-


1) DOMINEERING -If I want something I must get it -

2) SENSITIVE - If anyone say NO/CANNOT, guess what?? I'll Cry

HEAVY PRICE TO PAY

Well both mama and me paid a heavy price to learn a lesson...my lesson learnt is that I should not whine in public and mama's lesson learnt is that she must be more patient and gentle with me...

What actually happen??? Well... on Sunday, as mama and papa was walking with me from the carpark to my house, we saw a husky dog...I like it very much and refuse to go home, so I started my whining show by sitting on the ground...after a long day in church, mama was rather tired and impatient with my whinning...so she pulled me up and without knowing her own strength, she actually pulled quite hard and plus a jerk...RESULT.....of WHINNING + IMPATIENT + a HARD PULL = I had a PULLED ELBOW...it was so painful, I can hardly move my hand, when move a bit nia I'll cry...I kept crying and mama was so worried. Thank God for papa who is so calm, cool and patient. After calming down mama and papa took me to a doctor...Doctor diagnosed me as PULL ELBOW, nothing serious cos no swell...just rest a few days I'll be ok. Doctor told mama that I'll won't be using my injured hand for few days and I'll be extremely "dei" (manja)...true enough, when reach home, I only want mama to carry me and she has to carry me to sleep. At nite, I get to sleep on the bed with her and papa has to sleep in the hall...I keep waking up a few times and cry cos I felt rather uncomfortable and probably a slight pain....

I can see mama really felt very very guilty and she told her friends she has phobia in holding my hands now...Mama, it's not fully your fault cos it all started off with me whinning...Sorry mama cos I made you so worry...I'll try to behave myself after this lesson.

Indeed a great lesson learnt by me and my mama!

My trip back to Kuantan

MERDEKA, MERDEKA!!!! (Whatever that means!!!) I only know that 31st August is Malaysia's National Day, this year they are celebrating their 50 Years of Independence...

Mama told me there's also a celebration in Kuantan for my Gong Gong and Ah Ma. This year is their 50th Wedding Anniversary. The got married on Malaysia's Independence Day...since it's a Golden Jubilee, mama together with all my ee"s" and Ah Gu planned a celebration for them.

We left Singapore around 7am and reach Kuantan at 1pm. All my cousins, aunties and uncles so excited to see me...everyone went to the car to greet me...I have lots of attention there...

In the evening, everyone dress up nice nice for dinner cos the celebration is at a restaurant and they have about 12 tables of guest (all mama's relatives) and 2 tables for immediate family. I didn't sit with mama cos my ee and my cousins wants to take care of me, so I sat with them...everyone says I look like Korean boy...haha...I was so tired, I fell asleep before the dinner ends (reason cos I skip my afternoon nap)...I enjoyed myself very much that night.

I spend 3 days and 2 nights in Kuantan. Had a great and fun time there...I miss Mama's family very much, and was told that they missed me too...I hope to go back to Kuantan more often...there's the place where I'm really treated like a KING...everyone gives in to me and adores me, what to do I'm the youngest in the family..

Above is the slide presentation done by my cousins for my Gong Gong and Ah Ma for their 50th Wedding Anniversary. I did contribute a bit by viewing, by laughing and dancing...this shows that I approve the above slide...Gong Gong and Ah Ma loves the slide and so did the guests.

MY NEW SHOES

Mama noticed that I do not have a pair of nice shoes to wear for Gong Gong and Ah Ma's Wedding Anniversary...so she search high and low for one...my mama (dun know to say kiam siap or economical) not willing to pay for expensive shoes. She searched very long to find one good and cheap one for me...Thank God that she found one nice and inexpensive one from BATA (Bata is definetely no Buy And Throw Away, hor)...The colour of the shoes also matching with my shirt and pants...PERFECT!

My Own Flash Card

Mama is getting a bit more hardworking lately...probably because she saw the effectiveness of flashcard through Cathleen...she did a few flashcards for me...She ask Mary jie jie to teach me alphabets using sandpaper (also done by her) and flash the card for words that start with the alphabet...eg. "A", we have ant, apple and alligator etc...

MMI (Modern Montessori International)

On 11th August, Mama took me to MMI Katong for a trial class. Mama is always interested in Montessori method and she believes in it.

Our class is 10am and we reach there exactly at 10am cos we waited very long for bus no.40. We started of with some Practical Life Exercise (it's like a revision for mama), she also try to pick up some of the exercise that she can do it at home with me...after that we gathered around and did phonics exercise...We learned the alphabet "A" and the words alligator, ant, apple and also apron, they even have a song for it...The teacher showed us the alphabet "A" traced on a sandpaper. We were taught to use our sense of touch and visual to learn the alphabet (sensorial exercise). I also learn the number 1, 2 and 3.

Now it's fun time, we have water play, we wore an apron (hey apron is the word I just learnt).. According to teacher May, it can be part of practical life cos we practice and refine our motor skills by scooping water with cups and transferred to a bottle...I was all wet cos I went into the tub of water...haha and naughty me start splashing water unto other...hehe...

We went back to our classroom for lesson. Teacher May taught us shapes with the Montessori materials, where we trace the shape with our fingers, we also sing a song about shapes. The floor was all pasted with many shapes like rectangle, square, circle and triangle...we sing and walk tip top on the border of the shapes...

We ended the class with some song of jumping, hopping, walking...WOW FUN...can hop around...we suppose to have art and craft but we don't have enough time for that.

Ater the class I was so tired, probably because of all those jumping and hopping...when we board bus no.40, in less than 10 mins, I fell asleep...






Mama went home and discussed with papa about sigining up. Mama is seriously considering of signing up for me next month...

GARDENING DAY

Every evening I'll go down to the small garden at my block to see rabbits and fishes. This garden is the Senior Citizen Garden, where the senior citizens will go there and plant many kinds of trees and keep pets like rabbits and fishes.

The auntie who take cares of the garden is very nice and friendly. But taking care of a garden is not easy, there's a lot of maintenance job need to be done such as clearing all the dead leaves....

Well, since I've been given the priviledge to visit the garden (cos it's always locked), I'll do my part as good citizen to help auntie to clear the leaves...hehe, kiasu mummy quickly take the opportunity to do counting games with me...she say one, i'll say two, three...then i'll stop and jump to six and eight...haha...

Yeah...mama not working today cos it's a public holiday, it's Singapore's National Day.

Didn't do much, in the morning just went Ikea for shopping. In the evening, mama anxiously waiting for the National Day Parade. Had early dinner, getting ready to glue to the TV. Around 7.45, mama super kiasu, faster bring me and Mary jie jie to the 20th floor of my block to see fireworks...we waited for 15-20mins for the fireworks to start...WOW!! so nice that I quietly admire the fireworks. When it's all done, I keep asking mama for more...mama told me to wait for another week cos there will be another round of fireworks on 17th or 18th August.

Anyway, just take this time to wish Singapore....

My 1st Punishment...

When I get frustrated, I tend to use my hand to beat people...Well last nite, I received my very 1st punishment because I beat mama and Mary jie jie and I refuse to apologise. Last time when I beat people, mama will beat my hand but after hearing teacher Wendy's advice, she decided not beat me with her hand but punished me by standing at the "corner" (actually not a corner, just by the wall).

The punishment suppose to be 2 minutes, I cried throughout the 2 mins. When mama came to me to explain to me and asked me to say sorry, I REFUSED, just continue crying...well my punishment time got extended. After another 2 mins, I finally gave in and say sorry (doing my sign language) but I can't stop crying. I think it's because I felt very hurt and upset for being punished. When mama or jie jie tried to carry me and sayang me, I just refuse to look up, just lie on the floor and continue crying...after awhile, mama came to me again and explain to me what I did was wrong, finally I gave mama a hug and mama hug me tight and kiss me.

Sorry mama, I'll try my best not to repeat my naughty actions!!!

PLAYFUL BEGINING at PMI (Mandarin playgroup)

I went for trial class again but this time round is a Mandarin playgroup. The teacher is good, speaks very good Mandarin but 对不起 I don't understand a single word...mama became my translator...all instructions given by teacher is translated by my mama. My friends Ziv and Enen joined me in this class.

Feel like I didn't do much in the class. We started off with a Mandarin song, then we mix bubble solution, learn some colours : BLUE 蓝 + YELLOW 黄= GREEN 绿!, did some painting by mixing blue and yellow, then we went out to the garden to play our bubble mixture. Ended with a Mandarin goodbye song...THAT's IT...

Ziv, Enen and I make our money worth, we continue to play with the toys and their hamster for a while before going home.

Mama's verdict : NOT worth the $30....as for me, I so so only...paiseh to say I cried a few times there (not that I don't like the place but because I'm unhappy when mama wants to take away things from me)

Choo choo...choo choo train...

My maiden train (not MRT) ride to Segamat. Wow, a long journey, 3.5 hrs from Singapore. Below herewith is a picture of the train seats to Segamat.



Last weekend Mama took me and Mary jie jie to Segamat. Our train ride was at 8.40am, papa send us to the train station. 3.5hrs indeed it's quite a long journey for me, but we had a good place, mama book the 1st seat with ample place for us to stretch and put our things. Mama entertained me with the below gadget.



What's that??? A portable DVD player! Mama borrowed it from her boss. She played my favourite Hi5 VCD and gave me lots of snacks to pull through the 3.5 hrs.

We reached Segamat around 12.20pm. 2 ee and my 2 cousins were there at the train station to meet me. Didn't do much in Segamat, just my normal routine and play with my 2 older cousins, Chuan Xin and Chuan Ee kor kor....

My Ah Ma, Gong Gong, Ah Kim and Stephanie jie jie came and join us on Sun. 3ee together with Daryl and Ken kor kor suppose to join us but too sad my 3ee got dengue...Ah Ma and Gong Gong were so happy to see me. I still can remember my Gong Gong, I gave him a big hug. Ah Ma has to bribe me with a biscuit then only I called her...haha so young got bribery liao...

The Kuantan gang left right after lunch and we left for Singapore around 6.45pm. Our train ride supposed to leave Segamat at 5.32pm but as usual KTMB train not punctual, there's always a delay...so sian.

My journey back was not as good as the journey to here...Mama found out that she forgot to charge the DVD, end up no Hi5 for me...haiz...so sian...so both Mama and Mary jie jie has to take turns to entertained me...we reached Woodland Checkpoint around 10.40pm, by the time I reached home almost 11+ liao, however I already dozed off in the train by 9.30pm.

Overall a good journey cos I get to meet so many family members but quite tiring..I think it's more tiring for Mama and Mary jie jie. Thanks Mama for bringing me to Segamat.

A big Thank you to 2ee and her family too for their hospitality and welcoming me. I enjoyed myself there.

14th July 2007, Saturday activity

Not a very interesting weekend, mama tried to plan something for me a week earlier but last minute she has something on, so only take me out in the afternoon. We went to Parkway Parade, I took some rides but heee... a lot didn't put money, just sit there only...went home around 3.30 to take my nap. When I woke up I was quite cranky...mama immediately set up my private pool to keep me occupied.

Glad to inform that I've been attending Todd Zone on my own for a month. So far Teacher Jaclyn, Teacher Wendy and Teacher Aida said I good boy...there are times I cried but only for awhile nia. I enjoy the Praise & Worship and also Bible story time. Above is my very first Gift Shop Day present....

07-07-2007 (Saturday)

WOW such a nice number, this day suppose to be Earth Day....but not a very nice morning leh....RAINING>>>>I didn't even get to go and do my morning marketing...Mama actually plan to bring me for swimming but since I had fever on friday nite after my jab, mama have to forgo tat plan...but where to go??? Mama felt tat she needs to bring me out since she will be leaving me at home in the evening..we need to find a place with shelther and she didn't want to bring me to shopping complexes cos she wants me to see things and learn things...so we ended up at CHANGI AIRPORT...we took an MRT there and went to the viewing hall to see aeroplanes...I had a fun time running around at Terminal 2.
